Survival Camp 102 was again a success just like Survival Camp 101.Organized by
Chass Computer Consultants, this seminar had brought breaking technology from
our partners, Clearswift and Redmap
to address Singapore’s changing IT and IP law changes to our attendees!
With a list of seven impressive guest speakers from Singapore as well as
Australia, each brought and shared their field of expertise.
Excerpts of what each of the speakers shared :
| Yew Koon Chooi
is a lawyer from Rodyk & Davidson
specializing in Commercial contracts, joint ventures, franchising, licensing,
transfer of technology, exploitation and protection of intellectual property
amongst others. She had shared the legal liabilities of employers with regards
to corporate emails sent out by employees. |

| Chia Liang,
senior associate in the Intellectual Property & Technology department at
Alban Tay Mahtani & de Silva spoke
about what corporations should produce during Audits and what auditors really
look for.

| Lindsay Dublin,
our first overseas speaker and the Product manager from leading content
filtering company Clearswift,
spoke about how MimeSweeper
could protect organizations from losing millions in Intellectual Property loss,
slander and spam via email messaging.

| Ben Woolley our
second overseas speaker from Redmap
spoke about Redmap’s affordable archival email & electronic document
solution. Our attendees were given an insight to how simple and painless
achieving emails and e-documents can be. Redmap’s solution is compact and
extensive enough to fit into any organization with an email solution in place.

| Alan Andrew Dias,
the Director of Training and Technology from COMAT,
shared a practical & personal experience in the management of software
asset. His experience showed our attendees that with right tools, policies and
documentation SAM is breeze. He shared the industry’s best practices and
practical policies that may be implemented simply into any organization hoping
to achieve and maintain compliancy.

| Ron Tan from
CHASS Computer Consultants Pte Ltd,
showcased an exciting SAM solution called HOWLER. Howler does so much more than
most SAM tools in the market. Not only does it inventory Software and Hardware,
it also monitors Windows Services & Error events, sends real time alerts
every time a USB drive in plug into a computer, It is able to view files that
are in users C: and monitor the network’s shared resources. With it’s 12 report
templates and real time SLA gauge, SAM will never be the same again.

| No stranger to seminars, Gerald Tan
from Microsoft, spoke
about the various licensing schemes that could help organizations save money in
Licensing. Gerald, a licensing specialist, spoke about the benefits of signing
under MS Select and Enterprise Agreements.

Attendees were definitely treated to an information filled afternoon
that was immediately beneficial to them. They were able to bring back new
information on Law changes and new technologies that will help them move with
the times and maintain a sound and legal network.
